As per usual this is merely a fanfic made by me not for profit but instead for your enjoyment. I enjoy writing these fanfics as much as you enjoy reading them. I receive no profit for these works and I acknowledge that Rumiko Takahashi and co. created the Ranmaverse while Blizzard ENT. Developed the Starcraft universe.
This is a StarCraft/Ranma ½ Fusion. I don’t know if its been done before so I will have fun with this.
Now that that is out of the way I’d like to say it was late when I decided such a story to come into existence. I like Ghost’s and decided to myself “What type of Ghost would Ranma be?” so this story is the final outcome.
Plz be noted that all Ranma characters will be Terran based units and some will be using custom equipment instead of standard issue. Also note that some of the scenes of conflict come straight from Tribes 2 combat experiences I have been through.
TRRIBES 2 ALL THE WAY BABY!! Ahem now that I may not be sued lets continue.

Ranma’s Ghost
\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
It’s a Ghost!
Gunfire rained down on the unsuspecting scout group of Zerglings, with little defence other than armoured hide the Zerglings fell quickly to the heavy cannon fire that was bestowed upon them. Turning in chaos franticly trying to spot their assailant the Zerglings were treated to another round of rifle fire. Three more fell, as the ground suddenly seemed to literally explode around them. Charging towards a small mound being the most logical place for an attack the Zerglings felt more hot lead as the rounds of the automatic rifles went off. Four more Zerglings fell unmoving to the ground leaving only two more to fend for themselves. The remaining two Zerglings turned and ran only to be blow up with a single round of cannon fire that had blow apart the Zerglings were the stood.
“Nice shot’s Ryouga. You’re gonna have to teach me how to drive one of those someday.” Akane said to Ryouga in his Siege tank as it came out of Siege Mode. “Thank you commander, anytime ma’am.” “Call me Akane Ryouga, you know there are no formalities out here.” Squad Leader Sergeant Akane Tendou said with a bright smile, which melted Siege Tank Commander Ryouga Hibiki’s heart. “Yes Akane.”
Ryouga Hibiki had join the confederation army when he was a young boy because the Zerg had attacked his settlement long ago and killed his parents leaving only himself and his sister to face the horrors of the Zerg scouts. It was only through the military was Ryouga able to find a safe haven for his sister but Ryouga had a few perks the military quickly took advantage of. Perks like his inhuman strength. Ryouga was the only man to ever fight a Zergling hand-to-hand and come out the victor. The military proved that. His skills in hand-to-hand combat were succeeded by only three other military personal ever known and two of the three happened to be retired or missing. Meaning Ryouga was the best. But Ryouga had one problem, his sense of direction was way beyond terrible, so the military fixed that by giving Ryouga a custom helmet, whenever he was going somewhere his helmet would direct him through markers and Ryouga could easily follow a dot on the screen.
“Move out guy’s. The Furinkan Squad is gonna make a name for itself yet.” Four heads nodded as the merciless Furinkan Squad headed back to the command centre in the middle of nowhere.
“Furinkan squad reporting in Major.” Akane said with a salute to her superior. “Excellent work Sergeant. What is that? Seven scout groups and two base commands destroyed by your group?” Akane blushed “I do believe it was eight scout groups sir.” Akane stated with pride. “Eight? Well your squad is doing quite nice for itself I heard there hasn’t been a single casualty in your group yet. I must say I am impressed.” Akane’s blushed deepened “I thank you sir for your kind words and request a nights leave for myself and my squad as we have been in the field for two weeks.” “Request granted, have fun Sergeant.”
Her squad saluted Akane as she entered the barracks of the base. “At ease men, we have been granted a leave, rest up. Soon we’ll have work to do.” The squad cheered as the group removed their helmets. Private Ukyou Kounji removed her helmet and let out a breath of air, her hair stuck to her head and sweat dropped from her face. “Think I’ll take a shower now, it’s boiling in these suits.” That said Ukyou stood and left for the showers. Another helmet was removed to reveal an elegant man of older age. Tatewaki Kuno smiled “Fair Akane, I see thou hast no company on this fair evening. Very well I shall date with thee.” Kuno stood to approach Akane but received a blow to the side of his head courtesy of an angry Ryouga. Removing his custom helmet he said “Akane is gonna date me tonight boy. Don’t even think of interfering.” Akane smiled at Ryouga “Where shall we go tonight Ryouga I seen a nice hill top outside the perimeter fence that we can watch the sunset at.” Ryouga nodded and smiled “Sounds great.” The last member of the Furinkan squad removed their helmet. “Well Akane have fun, I will be going to make some tea later, would you like some with your date?” Akane nodded to her sister. “That’d be nice, thank you Kasumi.” Field medic first class Kasumi Tendou left the room to make some tea leaving only Ryouga and Akane to their privacy.
“Sir, we have nuclear launch co-ordinates.” “Damn, I thought that those merc’s would be long dead by now. Launch a nuke to the co-ordinates.”
“Hurry up, that nukes gonna be here any moment.” A Ghost said. In cloak mode, another Ghost waited for the nuke to switch to terminal guidance before leaving the area. A common mistake among newbie Ghost was to stay and watch the nuke go off. Sure, you may have painted the target but unfortunately the paint zone was in the nuclear blast radius, so you had a tendency to die if you stayed to watch. Both Ghosts’ under their cloaks left the area. A loud explosion shook the earth and the Ghost’s returned to Ground Zero. The Protoss Nexus was destroyed and all probes in the area were decimated. With no probes, construction was impossible. The few remaining Zealots had left the area to return to their central command.
The Ghosts’ came out of cloak in order to recharge their energy packs. “Ranma, lets go back to the command centre and report in, we gotta get paid for this.” Ranma nodded to his father. Ranma stopped and looked a small ridge before leaving. “What is it boy?” Genma asked. Ranma continued to stare. “Nothing, I guess it’s nothing.” The Ghosts’ left the area.
Ranma Saotome, ghost, psychic and a master martial artist. With his telepathic abilities he’d had been able to study and master the art of his family by the age of thirteen. His father having nothing left in the art to teach his son began train Ranma in the art of Ghost. Ranma being a telepath meant the government paid for his implants and equipment as long as he worked for them for a while. Ranma and Genma became high level Ghosts in their unique ability to suddenly be with enemy defences awaiting a nuclear strike. After serving their time with the confederation both Ghost left the army to become Merc’s. The government wasn’t to happy in losing their two best Ghost and sent a squad of marines and a squad of science vessels out to catch the two but the Ghost’s lived up to their reputation and escaped the capitol undetected. Since then the government had been chasing after them but stopped when Ranma and Genma claimed Merc status.
Merc Status was the status of a mercenary and meant they would receive jobs and payments through ‘The Nest’. The Nest was the head quarters of the Mercenary. In exchange for 40% of the job pay a merc was able to have free travel, food, room and board and ammo. All their needs were taken care of as long as they completed their jobs. Every Merc either group or loner had an appointed officer to handle all job offers and payments. Merc’s just went where they were told and did what they were told. The government stopped chasing them because if you worked for The Nest you were neutral and to attack The Nest was to have every single Merc in the known universe after you. Just a bunch of guys with guns? No, as a standing army the Merc’s had nearly twice the size of the confederation army, including Protoss and on the rare occasion some Zerg. Also Merc’s held Battle cruisers and Carriers with customized parts, which usually meant they were better than most standard Battle cruisers.
Back at the command base the base commander was surprised to see the two Ghosts’ enter the command deck. “You two are as good as you said. Hell I thought you guys were dead after the communication black out.” Genma stood proud “The path of a martial artist is fought with peril, I’d let the boy fight hordes of Zerg if I thought I’d make him a better martial artist.” Ranma smacked his father. “Is that before or after you leave.” Genma smirked. “Look you came out alive, Tsar was not even a horde it was two squads. The Zerg could only see ya when that overlord was around.”
The commander of the base looked at the two Ghosts’ arguing and sighed. “Oh well, at least my men don’t squabble like this. Transfer the rest of their pay to their accounts.” He called to his assistant. Ten minutes and a concussion later Ranma emerged from the med bay. “Pop you had that coming, ya know how I feel about Tsar and still you bring it up.” Genma emerged from the med bay with an ice pack on his head. “Oh be quite boy, it’s in the past.” Ranma about to make a rude remark was cut off by a soldier running towards them; “Sir, you have a call.” Genma nodded to the young marine and headed towards the nearest private terminal.
“Saotome, I have another mission for you.” Genma nodded. “Yes Tendou, what is it?” “The planet Nerima prime is in need of some Alien Exterminator’s, you feel up to it. Pay is quite good.” Ranma smiled, “Nab’s are ya giving us a choice on this mission?” Nabiki grinned “No, but I’m making it seem like I am, its been cleared and you guys got a cruiser to catch. Five minutes better hurry.” The display went blank and the two Saotome’s left for the cruiser that would take them to Nerima prime.
Arriving on time to the flight deck Ranma and Genma spied a large battle cruiser in final prep for take off. Approaching a man in a pilots garb the two asked; “Is this ship headed for Nerima Prime?” “Yes sir, are you Major General Genma Saotome?” “That was a long time ago captain, it’s just Genma now.” The captain nodded his head and turned to board the cruiser. “Follow me sir.” The man led Genma and son to a cabin within the cruiser. “Here is your quarters sir.” Genma and Ranma entered the quarters. Ranma dropped his pack on the floor while Genma lay back and promptly fell asleep. Ranma sat down and tried to sleep to but was unsuccessful and decided to wander the ship.
Coming upon the recreations room for the on board solders. Hearing a commotion he entered the room. The soldiers had cleared the area and were cheering on as two of their fellow comrades beat the hell out of each other in a violent fistfight. Both combatants were bruised and bloody and the sound of flesh pounding flesh could be heard clearly through the shouting. Finally after a powerful blow slipped through the first mans defences he went down and stayed down. Several men hung their heads as they had just lost their weeks pay and many men cheered. The man in the ring called out for a challenger, but was a bit confused when a Ghost’ stepped into the ring. This child couldn’t be more than sixteen or seventeen and he was gonna fight him?
Ranma saw the other man go down and though of many ways the man could have won. Ranma then heard the man calling for another challenger and thought; “Seems like it could be a decent work out, haven’t practised the art today.” Making his way through the assembled group Ranma entered the circle.
The crowd went silent. “Yo, lets fight.” Turning to the man taking bets he said “100 cred’s on me.” The man looked at the boy before him and the man he was fighting and said, “A bets a bet, I’ll give ya 10 to 1 odds. Begin.” The man looked at Ranma, “better go easy on him.” He thought as he raised his bloodied fist. Ranma had similar thoughts as he raised his fist.
Ranma looked at the man, he was big, probably not very fast but his strength must be pretty good, the man was favouring his left leg a lot but he was hiding it well enough that no one short of a trained fighter would know.
The man looked at Ranma and couldn’t see any weakness in his defence. This worried the man, as it would mean Ranma was a trained fighter. “Better take em out quickly” he thought and launched himself at Ranma.
The man launched himself at Ranma but when his fist was about to make contact with Ranma he vanished as was suddenly behind him. Striking at the mans back, Ranma jumped over the sweeping attack that followed his initial attack, twisting his body Ranma let loose a pair of round house kicks to the mans head which was able to block the first but hadn’t seen the second and was caught off guard. The man fell back into the crowd and stood up. “Your good.” He said. Ranma grinned and assumed his offensive stance. The man did he same. This time it was Ranma who started the combat as he threw a devastating combination of punches at the man. The man was unable to stop the assault and fell to the ground. The soldiers stood in awe as a boy defeated their captain. Ranma walked to the bet taking man and calmly asked for his winning. Ranma left the rec room 1000 credits richer.
Returning to the compartment Ranma was tired after the fight and lay down to sleep. Yellow sirens began to ring, yellow meaning preparing to land signalled the two ex-Ghosts’ that it was time to gather their things and prepare to leave the ship.
The battle cruiser landed with a loud clash as the ship was set down on the docking pad. The loading doors opened and many marines filed out towards the barracks while the commanders left for the command centre. Some marines met family on the planet and gave their pleasantries. Another person however met Ranma and Genma. A person Ranma wasn’t prepared to see. If he’d known he’d find her hear he would have stored his valuables. The brown haired girl met the two as the came off the ship. “What a coincidence we meet like this Ranma, Genma. If you will please follow me to my office I will tell you about your current mission.”
“Damn it Nab’s I didn’t know you lived on Nerima.” Ranma said. “Well now you do, I work out of my ‘nest’ office within the command centre.” Genma wasn’t surprised though. “So Nabiki how is your father? I haven’t seen him in a while.” “He is well, he had an important meeting to attend to and was unable to come meet you personally but he sends his greetings and requests a meeting with you as soon as possible.” Genma nodded “I look forward to that.”
Nabiki led the group to her private office within the command centre. Many command centres had ‘The Nest’ officers with them because if they needed to contact ‘The Nest’ they could simply press a few buttons. Though all cities were equipped with standard ‘The Nest’ offices for public use. Command nest’s were strictly for military use.
Inside Nabiki’s office Ranma and Genma sat down in the uncomfortable chairs set out for visitors. “So what’s the objective?” Ranma said forestalling any boring banter. “To the point huh Ranma, good I like that. Your mission is to assist the Furinkan unit in an upcoming covert op against the Protoss.” The lights in the room dimmed and the wall opened up to reveal a large screen. A picture of a large protoss base appeared. “On Nerima’s second moon called beta there is a Protoss base operational. This sector is lightly guarded and The Protoss has been fighting with the Zerg on Nerima first moon called Delta. Nerima beta and delta are mineral havens and we need those minerals back. Lately though the Protoss have been building a sizable force and we need to stop this. The Protoss have taken the orbital rings of both planets and have been sending some minimal forces to this planet. We suspect the Zerg are small in force or are strictly focusing on the Protoss because they haven’t attacked us as much as the Protoss. This planet is not very valuable to the confed but beta and delta are. They will save the two planets but not Prime. This place is my home. I need you guys to help the forces here because you’re the best, I wouldn’t have recommended you if I though other wise. My father will pay 500,000 credits to you if you rid us of the Zerg and the Protoss.”
Ranma and Genma both nodded; “Nab’s if ya say ya need our help we’ll help. Besides 500,000 creds is my kinda job ‘sides cant let anyone kill my boss now can I?” Nabiki somewhat laughed. “Very nice Ranma, now get out of my office.” Nabiki said with a smirk. Ranma and Genma stood up and turned to leave when Genma turned back. “How long till the campaign begins?” “Two weeks” replied Nabiki, “Until then you’re on leave. Meet me at the ‘Last Chance’ bar here on the base in twenty minutes.”
Nabiki handed the two Saotome’s cell phones and asked for some privacy.
With the Saotome’s gone from her office Nabiki leaned back in her chair and looked at the picture’s on the wall. One picture sported Ranma, Nabiki and Genma all standing in front of a dead hydralisk. This was one of the few times Nabiki had to meet the Saotome’s in person and left Nerima. They had slain the hydralisk and pack of six Zerglings before Nabiki knew they were under attack. The second picture was that of herself, Akane, Kasumi and a tall man with long black hair, he wore a black uniform with the signet of the confederation. This man was her father Soun Tendou it had been a while since she saw her family as a recreational visit. Anytime she saw Akane is was as she was leaving for another mission. If she saw her father it was for ‘The Nest’ business.
Leaving her office Nabiki went to the command deck and asked for Akane Tendou to be paged. Looking at the blank screen for a second Nabiki wondered if Akane was still on the base. The screen flashed to life and Akane’s face brightened at the sight of her older sister. “Nabiki, how are you? What do ya need?” Nabiki grinned. “The Zerg and Protoss away from our home would be nice but for now I’ll settle for your company, I have brought in two very special friends of mine to aid you in your attacks on the Protoss and Zerg. Daddy thought it would be best if I called for some reinforcements for you.” Akane frowned “But Nabiki you know I don’t like outside help.” Indeed she did “Akane don’t worry its only for this campaign, its to important for your pride to get in the way and blind you please just do this for me.” Akane knew her older sister was right and finally nodded. “When and where?” Akane asked. “Twenty minutes, ‘Last Chance”
The Last Chance bar, the place was a dungeon with a bar attached. The place was built in and old larger version of a bunker which could house about fifty to seventy people. The old bunkers were disbanded and disused because of there size. The smaller more efficient bunkers are now used due to rapid deployment. Also the structure on the newer bunkers was more stable than the older model, one good shot and the whole bunker came crashing down. Ranma sat there drinking a soda with his father. Genma had had four beers but shown no signs of drunkenness. “Pop, ya know that beer fucks with our implants, why ya still drinkin?” Genma turned to his son. “Ranma, I will tell ya this now. Maybe it’s the beer talking but I ain’t perfect, far from it. Really far from it, anyways I drink, I drink whenever I feel like it and that’s the way I am. I know implants fuck up and we get drunk faster but still, I will drink, the implants always recover.” Ranma turned away. “Yep defiantly the beer.” Ranma thought.
Nabiki entered the Last Chance in her civilian garb, which included a shirt two size to small and a skirt that threatened to explode upon further strain. “Do you always dress like that?” Ranma asked raising an eyebrow. Nabiki smirked “No, only when I come here.” Ranma looked confused “Why?” Sitting down next to Ranma, Nabiki simply said; “I need a beer.” Instantly five guys were fighting over who would buy her a beer. The bartender handed Nabiki a beer bought from the man who managed to break away and buy Nabiki a drink. Smiling “I enjoy the attention.” Nabiki stated. “Hey boy, that’s a neat trick maybe you should do that for me every once in a while.” Ranma looked to his now drunk father. “Shut up pop, the CURSE program has brought me nothing but trouble and there’s no way I’m walking into a bar filled with guys slobbering all over me.” Nabiki smiled “Come on Ranma can’t be that bad, at least you’d get a free drink out of it. Besides you’d look good in a skirt.” Nabiki and Genma laughed at Ranma expense. Turning to his father Ranma said, “And you’d look good in the fucking Zoo old man.” Genma became serious “Shu’up boy, that was a mean trick when you shipped me out to the zoo besides we'll be cured soon.” Ranma turned to Nabiki, “Ok what’s the deal here?”
At the same time, “At ease men, I have an announcement for you all.” Akane had her squad’s full attention; “As of today we have been assigned two Merc’s to help us in the upcoming campaign.” Sighs of grief could be heard from Ryouga, Ukyou and Kuno. “I hate baby sitting jobs.” Ukyou stated. “I know, but I have been told they are expert Ghosts’ and will require no real needs from us. We get them there and they’ll help us destroy our targets. Any questions?” Kasumi raised her hand. “I will need some special medical supplies for healing Ghost’ can you arrange for them to be brought here.” Akane thought for a second. “I’ll talk to Lieutenant Colonel Tofu.” With no more questions Akane dismissed her squad and headed for the Last Chance with Ryouga in tow. Ryouga was looking at Akane as she walked towards the Last Chance.
“Akane I thought you didn’t drink here?” Akane turned to him. “I don’t, but my sister asked me to come here and meet the two Merc’s I told you guys about.” Upon entering the bar Akane saw her sister in her usual bar hop outfit and she was currently engaged in laughing at a Ghost. As she approached the trio she heard one of them say; “Ok what’s the deal here?”
“Ah everyone, this is my sister Akane and her boyfriend Ryouga.” Akane and Ryouga bowed than saluted the two ghosts’ who did the same. “Now on the campaign Genma has final say on the covert ops while Akane has final say on her squad.” Ranma, Genma and Akane all nodded in sync, as that was how they wanted it to be. Ranma turned to Ryouga. “Are you by chance Ryouga Hibiki, The same Ryouga who under went the CURSE program?” Nodding Ryouga answered in shock not knowing how this Ghost could know; “Yes, but how did you know?… Oh yeah you Ghost are like psychic or something couldn’t you just read my mind or something.” Ranma nodded; “I could have but I believe its wrong to invade someone’s personal space unwarranted.” As the realization of who was before him Ryouga grabbed Ranma by the armour and hauled him forward. “Ranma! How dare you show your face in my presence after what you did to me!”
Akane was startled by Ryouga’s hatred towards the Ghost and she wondered what could make him hate Ranma so much. “Calm down man it was only bread.” “Only bread ONLY BREAD! That entire god damned year you stole all of the bread! AND you skipped out on our duel!” Ranma looked at Ryouga with a glare “I skipped out!? It was YOU who was a no show, I waited four days for you but you didn’t show up, The drop ship was gonna leave and I HAD to go.” “Four days, I waited for you in the lot behind the centrifuge and you weren’t there Ranma!” The fanged boy said with a hiss. Ranma looked confused. “Ryouga…. We didn’t have a centrifuge. Those are on large ships to keep the gravity stable. And the nearest ship was at the spaceport, which was about thirty miles from the lot behind your station. Which is where you and I were to duel.” That said Ryouga stomped out of the Last Chance.
Nabiki cleared her throat and everyone turned to her. “Akane go get him. I’ll send the documents concerning the mission to you later. I’ll introduce the Saotome’s to your squad in ten minutes, I hope you will be there.” Akane nodded and left to find her boyfriend. Genma stood up and left saying he was going to meet his old friend. Ranma and Nabiki sat alone in the bar.
“So Saotome, how long has it been? Two years, I think. We last saw each other on Char II, you had helped with a small clan to wipe out the Zerg in the area.” Ranma finished her story “But after we left the swarm invaded the area and the clan was wiped out completely.” They sat there in silence for a few minutes. “Do you still hold yourself responsible for them?” Ranma looked at Nabiki. “No, I don’t I had finished my contract and it was time to leave. I couldn’t have known they would strike when I left.” Nabiki stood up. “You lie like a cheap rug Ranma. Come on lets go meet the rest of Furinkan unit.”
Akane managed to calm Ryouga down and convinced him to work with Ranma. “Ok but I still don’t like him.” Ryouga said with a huff. “Don’t worry Ryouga, after the missions over he and his father will leave and you’ll never have to deal with them again.” “I hope not.” Ryouga said grimly. Ukyou in her civilian guard said; “So what are these Ghosts like? Are they cute?” “Uhh..” Was all Akane muttered; “Oh I hope they are young enough to go on a date with me.” All eyes turned on the eldest Tendou. Seeing the blank expressions on all their faces she smiled. “I can have a life too can’t I?” Kuno looked at her “Me thinks you had a love for the good doctor Tofu.” Kasumi blushed, “That was a crush nothing more.”
Nabiki entered the room with her Ghost Merc in tow. “So Nabiki where are the Ghosts you’d bring us?” Akane said.
Nabiki snapped her fingers
To everyone’s amazement a figure seem to materialize beside the middle Tendou. Removing his helmet Ranma smiled “I am Ranma Saotome, nice to meet you all.” Ryouga grunted a greeting, Kuno seemed uneasy around the Ghost, Akane remained silent, Ukyou was starting to drool and Kasumi was shocked but remained smiling in her pleasant way.
“Ranma you know my sister and her boyfriend Ryouga but this is the rest of her unit. Private Ukyou Kounji, Tatewaki Kuno and field medic first class Kasumi Tendou, My older sister.” Ranma shook hands with all the units’ members. After short greeting to all of the members including Akane and Ryouga. Akane stood up.
“Ranma, this is your bunk.” Akane said as she pointed out one of the barrack racks. Thanking Akane again Ranma dropped his stuff and sat down. Kuno, Ukyou and Kasumi all turned towards Ranma. Sensing no hostile actions from any of them Ranma began to unpack his essentials such as extra battery packs, his modified ammo and some strange packs. Kasumi was becoming curious “Ranma, I am wondering, what are these things?” She said indicating to the pouches. Looking towards Ryouga and seeing his old rival turn away Ranma began “That’s part of the CURSE program.
“The CURSE program stood for Covert Unit Recon Support Equipment. This was a form of liquid chemical found only in a certain part of earth. These chemicals were used long ago to help people spy on each other.” “How did they do that?” Ukyou questioned. “They help by changing forms, in Ryouga’s case he becomes a little black pig when doused with cold water and reverts to his human form when doused with hot. Hell it’s the perfect disguise who’d suspect a little black pig to be capable of penetrating defences and stealing info. But there was a problem with the program because if your in the CURSE form for a prolonged period of time the mind begins to become desperate for the true body and you actively seek hot water weather your on a mission or not, so the program was discontinued. Only after Ryouga, my father, two other’s and myself were affected by the chem.’s did they discontinue the program. Heh those bastards.” “But if you knew what would happen why didn’t you just say ‘no’?” Ukyou asked. Ryouga answered that question “Because those confed bastards never told us. They said we’d become the perfect recon soldiers and able to break any defence. They didn’t say anything about changing forms.” Furinkan Squad knew of Ryouga’s ‘condition’ but no one knew how he contracted it and it was rarely talked about under penalty of a beating from Ryouga.
“Ranma, I’d prefer if we didn’t talk about our CURSE form because I don’t want it to get out. This squad knows but no one else does. Don’t tell anyone.” Ranma turned to Ryouga “You and me both. I don’t want my form to be revealed either.” Everyone in the room excluding Ryouga and Ranma were now curious as to the CURSE form of the Ghost before them.
Ranma sat there storing the pouches in a safe spot when he turned back to his equipment. Removing his C-15 rifle off his back and placing it on his bunk Kuno eyed the weapon. “What manner of sorcery is that?” Kuno asked. “This is the latest in Ghost armaments, opposed to the standard C-10 rifles issued to Ghosts this is an experimental weapon that combines speed and accuracy with deadly power. With this baby I can take down hydras in a shot or two. Pylons are easier to destroy and most shielded on Zealot’s fall after one shot.” Pointing out a second energy pack slot he continued. “It holds more energy than standard C-10 so I can use my lockdown attack more often. It is connected to my energy pack for an added kick and these mod's.” he said as he connected a barrel extension. “Increase its range and gives me burst fire capability, though I only use burst in extreme situation because it causes problems after prolonged use and even then if this thing jams I can end up blowing myself up. This part here.” Ranma said as he indicated to a tube-like piece connected to the barrel extension “Acts as a silencer. Combined with the shoulder holster I basically have a sniper rifle. It is only used with all mods for some missions because like this the gun is powerful but to large to carry around when sneaking around a base. Often I use it for only the targeting laser the Nukes lock on to.”
Ukyou looked confused, “But Ranma doesn’t your cloaking device cover that?” Kasumi looked into Ranma’s blue eyes and admired them for a moment before turning to the young Marine and saying, “A cloak pack camouflages the entire body including weapon and so forth. The cloaking mechanism does a full body scan before activation and if you have any added materials such as your mods will be cloaked along with yourself but the more surface cloaked means a significant increase in power output. This results in a higher chance of detector class vessels tracking him at further distances. So the less power output means he can move closer to detectors without them picking him up.” Ranma smiled, “I see you remember what I told you long ago huh Kas-chan?” Kasumi blushed as the recollection of her childhood nickname came into reality. “I remember everything about you Ranma.” She smiled “I am glad you remembered me.”
To everyone surprise Ranma and Kasumi knew each other. “Hath thou met this fair maiden before?” Kuno asked. Ranma turned to him, “It was a long time ago, shortly after I received my implants. I was resting in my room when a certain beauty walked in…”
Young Ranma lay in a medical cove after receiving implants as part of the Ghost program. Groaning, he awakens to the small casket like casing that currently holds him. Spinning slowly around the casket is a gyro-sphere. He panics for a moment but then remembers that martial artist’s are never afraid. Looking around Ranma sees no one else in the room but he is ‘hungry’. Calling out for someone Ranma begins to get worried. Was he stuck here? Would anyone ever find him? His questions are answered as a tall elegant woman walks in. She has long brown hair tied in a ponytail, big blue eyes and a smile on her face. The name Tendou is written on her nametag. “Hello there Ranma, you gave me quite a start, usually anyone receiving ghost implants remain asleep for a few more days.” Ranma smiled “Really? Wow, how long was I asleep for?” He says eagerly hopping the nice woman won’t leave.
The nurse looked at the boy for a moment. “You were asleep for three days.” Ranma looked shocked “Three DAYS!?! I missed too much practice. Can ya let me outta here I need to practice a while.” “Sorry Ranma I cant let you out until tomorrow. See these rings.” She says as indicates to the gyro-system. “They make sure your body doesn’t reject the implants and they ensure you will be able to use your implants without having to press any buttons.” Ranma smiles “Wow, that’s neat. What do the implants do again?” She is taken back by this question. Wondering how the boy can undergo the surgery without even knowing why. She is about to explain when there is a small voice heard. “Momma?” The nurse looks back towards the door. “It’s ok Kasumi dear you can come in.”
A young Kasumi enters the room. Kasumi also wears a white coat much like her mother but hers has a single word written on it ‘trainee’.
A little Kasumi is hardly able to see into the machine that is holding Ranma. The mother Tendou lifts her daughter up onto into her arms so she can see better, “Momma, why is he in there?” The mother Tendou smiles to her daughter “He is going to become a soldier called a ‘Ghost’ dear. ‘Ghosts’ are the hidden soldiers who sneak around and become invisible.” Ranma smiles “I’m already the best martial artist so I’m gonna be the best Ghost too.” Ranma exclaims eagerly. “Wow…” Nurse Tendou’s communication device goes off and she frowns “Kasumi dear, will you stay here with Ranma for a while. I have to hurry and help some people.” Kasumi nods. Rushing out, the two are left alone.
Young Ranma smiles to the trainee “You wear the same coat as the nice lady are you a doctor to?” Ranma asks. Kasumi puffs up her chest in pride “I’m gonna be a field medic and help people out in field. “Neat maybe one day you can fix me up if I ever get hurt.” Kasumi somewhat frowns “I don’t know how to help ‘Ghosts’ no one will tell me about them or how to help them yet. Ranma puts his hand on the glass case. “Don’t worry I know a lot about ‘Ghosts’ Heh I am one. O.k. this here is the…” Ranma explains to Kasumi about the implants as best as he could. Every know and than Kasumi asks about certain chemicals and how they might effect him, Ranma answers as best he can and promises to find out everything else he can and tell her.
Nurse Tendou re-enters the room, “Kasumi dear we have to leave. Ranma needs his rest and I will need your help in the lab.”
A few days later Ranma is wandering the halls when there is an explosion in the lab that Nurse Tendou is working in. Ranma rushes in to help her, finding an unconscious Kasumi Ranma carries her to safety. Rushing back in he finds Nurse Tendou and helps her to safety. Kasumi has suffered from smoke inhalation and minor burns on her left arm and leg. Nurse Tendou is critically injured and has first-degree burns on more than 50% of her body. She lives until she finds out that Kasumi is ok and will make a full recovery. She then passes away with a smile on her face. Soun is affected badly by the loss of his wife, Genma is comforting his old friend as best he can but it is to no avail. Ranma provides support for Kasumi as best he can with Kasumi’s sisters on another planet she is grateful for his presence.
Kasumi begins to develop feelings for Ranma during this time but isn’t able to tell Ranma how she feels because…
A month after the death of Kimiko Tendou, Ranma and Genma are called away on a mission. The two leave the planet leaving Soun and his three daughters to care for themselves…
“So then Kasumi and I went our separate ways and we haven’t seen each other since.” Akane was stunned, Nabiki was shocked but showed no signs of it, Ukyou was silently pouting, Kuno didn’t care and Ryouga was mildly shocked.
Akane was the first to speak, ”Kasumi I didn’t know any of this.” “I know, you too were away and I didn’t wish for you two to recall such hard times. Ranma and I met under the worst of conditions and I wasn’t ready to remind you about when mother died.” Kasumi replied. “Hmm… that explains why you never asked Dr Tofu out.” This took Kasumi back, “Oh I had no idea he liked me.” Akane was slightly agitated by this through out her life almost every boy she felt for always had a crush on her older sister. Kasumi was oblivious to all their attempts to snare her.
“Ranma taught me all about Ghosts the day after we first met he was given information on all his implants and with those he taught me how to heal Ghost’s.” Kasumi said with a smile. Ranma also smiled “So Kas-chan I see you made your dream come true, you’re a field medic.” “Not just any medic Ranma, a field medic first class” Kasumi said with a hint of pride. “Daddy doesn’t approve of Akane and me being in action, he would prefer if we got a desk job like Nabiki.” Ranma smiled “To be honest I don’t think you’d fit very well behind a desk.” Kasumi smiled “Neither do I, Ranma, neither do I.”
End of part 1
t(-_-t) Authors notes
First chapter done, bad ending to chapter.
Chapter 2 feature – An attack by the Zerg
Ranma and the gang in action
Sorry ppl no cliffhanger here this chapter was simple for intro’s and somewhat of a possible story line.
Yeah I know Ranma wouldn’t be able to teach Kasumi about Ghosts when he just became one but still I think he’d know a little bit about the implants, and if you don’t think a 13 year old Ranma and pick up a full grown person think about when 16 year old Ranma picked up Ryouga’s 1 ton umbrella with one hand.
I have some plans for this story and I think it’ll turn out well enough, I know some ppl think I should have paired Akane and Ranma together but sry ppl I’m a kasumite or Ukchanfan My stories usually feature them as Ranma’s chosen, besides Ryouga and Akane do make a good couple. That’s all for now.
And ends with Nu,
This is the truth,
This is my belief,
At least for now…
