This site is an index of all the Ranma Fanfiction available in the
R.A.A.C archives, including everything in the /Ranma directory there
and all crossovers that I could spot in the other directories.
This version covers all fics in the archives by 5th Feb 1999, many fics
that were archived between 5th Feb 1999 and 5th May 2000, some later fics
and some that are not in the archive. In particular if a long fic was
started by that time, the index entry for it will cover all parts of
that fic that were available (on the R.A.A.C, the FFML or on a webpage
if I could find it) at the time that I indexed it. Since I read the fics
alphabetically, this means that fics earlier in the alphabet are likely
to have more parts released now than are covered in the Index.
A second pass of the Index is in progress and will bring the coverage
up to include all fics in the archives by 5th May 2000, including the
newer parts of long fics. This is now 57.6% complete, All winners of the
TASS awards are now indexed.

Basic navigation: Click on a letter in the top window to go to the first
page for that letter. If the letter has more than one page, there will be
a line like the following:-

at the top of the page. Click on the page number you want to go to. The
red number is the page you are currently on.
1: The title of the fic. For multipart fics the number of parts that I
could find at the time of the creation of the index will be listed
in brackets after the title. The entry will only refer to the fic up
to this point (mainly the page count).'*lemon*' after the title
indicates a fic with explicit sexual activity in it. The background
colour indicates if the story has been updated recently. Red means
that this entry was created/changed in the last update, the last 2
weeks, Pink means the last 4 weeks, Orange means the last 8 weeks and
Yellow, the last 12 weeks.
2: File: Indicates the filename at the RAAC Ranma fanfic archives at
ftp://ftp.cs.ubc.ca/pub/archive/anime-fan-works/. Click here to open
the story from the RAAC archives.
3: There may also be a FFML File: entry, which lists the filename in the
FFML archives (at ftp.fanfic.com/pub/archive). If there is a FFML entry
click on it to open the story from the FFML archives. In addition some
files are stored locally, and these will have a Local File: entry.
4: The Author or authors of the fic. With the email address in brackets
following. Note that email addresses have a habit of going out of
date, so the information may not be 100% accurate. In particular if
there is no webpage listed for the fic, it means that I could not
track down the fic on the web anywhere other than the Ranma archives
In this case it's much more likely that the email address will be
outdated since I probably just listed the address given in the fic.
Click on the Author Name to go to that authors entry in the Author
Index. Click on the Email address to send mail to the Author.
5: The home Webpage of the fic (or as close as I could find!). I try
to find the authors own page in preference for this entry, failing
that any page that archives the story. Any fic in this Index that is
not in the R.A.A.C or TASS archives will have an entry in this section.
6: Any other notes about the fic. If it is archived in the R.A.A.C
archives, but not in the Ranma section, the section it is archived
in will be noted here. In this example the fic is stored in the
Marmalade Boy directory.
7: Crossovers. Lists series that this fics crosses over with. Click on
the series name to go to that series' section in the Crossover Index
8: A short synopsis/teaser of the fic. I try not to give too much about
the story away here, but I do try to give you enough to give you a
good idea of what the story is about.
9: Listed here are the titles of direct sequels, direct prequels and
sidestories to this story. Only direct sequels and prequels are listed
(the stories that are just before and just after this story in
sequence), to find the story 2 on in sequence (for instance) go to
the entry for the sequel fic, and it will be listed as a direct
sequel there. Click on a story title in this section to go to the
entry for that story.
10:The current status of the fic, and its length. Length is indicated in
pages. One page is 2000 characters as far as I'm concerned (this is
roughly the number of characters on a standard paperback book page)
I've listed it as pages rather than as K, because I find it easier to
visualise the length of a story that way.
There may also be a Flags entry. This lists the categorisation of a fic

Comedy Makes you laugh.
Dark Death, loss of hope, ruin e.t.c.
Spamfic Short story, usually telling a joke.
Alterverse Story set in a Ranmaverse that diverged from the canon
before the start of the manga.
Divergence Story which diverges from the canon story during the manga
events.
Continuation Story set after the end of the manga
Drama A 'serious' story.
Fusion A crossover story where one or more characters from one of
the series' is replaced by a character from one of the
others.
Lemon Adult story. Don't read if illegal in your area.
Songfic Lyrics to a song
Teaser An introduction to a story, not really a story itself.
Mystery A story that poses a puzzle for the reader to solve.
WAFF Warm and Fuzzy Feeling. A Feel-good fic.
Script The story is written as if it were a script for a play
Character Study A detailed study of a character
Metafiction Fanfiction about fanfiction
Surreal Weird, mindboggling
Spelling/Grammar. This indicates whether the story is free enough of these
errors that they don't affect reading the story (Good), it has
enough so that they are noticeable, but not enough to make it
hard to read the story (Fair) or has enough errors in that
reading the story is seriously impaired.
The Author index entries.
1: The Authors Name, the total number of fics they have in the index at
the current time, and the total number of pages.
2: The Authors current email, as best I can determine. Click on it to
send email to this Author.
3: The Authors prime webpage. This is the home webpage, as best as I
can determine, for this author. Pages of fics on which they were
collaborators will not be listed here, but will be in the entry for
the fic in question. Click on it to go to that webpage.
4: The fics that this author has written, that are in the index. Click
on a fic name to go to the entry for that fic.
Authors that only have 1 fic in the index are listed in alphabetical order
at the end of the page. For these entries, click on the Authors name to
go to their fic in the index, click on the email address to send them mail.
The Crossover index entries
1: The Series title, the total number of fics crossed over with this series
in the index at the current time, and the total number of pages.
For series with 4 or more stories that cross with them, you can click on
the series name to go to an expanded listing just for that series. In this
expanded listing, the teaser will be listed along with each title, along
with author, status, length and a read link to the story.
2: The fics in the index that are crossed over with this series. Click on
a fic name to go to the entry for that fic.
Series' that only have 1 fic crossed over with them in the index are listed
in alphabetical order at the end of the page. For these entries, click on
the series name to go to the entry for the fic that crosses with it.

1: The matchup type, i.e Who is paired with who, the total number of fics with
this matchup indexed at the current time (note that not all fics in the index
have matchup data listed at present), and the total number of pages

The Awards Page
This lists the winners of the various Ranma fanfiction awards. Right now this
is just the winners of the Best of Ranma Fanfiction Awards. Click on a fic
title to go to it's entry in the main index.
The 'File List' Page
This is a quick search page. All the fics are listed here, just the titles. A
stopgap method to find fics using your browsers find in page function. It will
be replaced with a proper search function in time
The 'Long Fics' Page
Here I list all those really long fics. The ones that are going to keep you
occupied for a decent amount of time. Listed here are fics 1000 pages and over,
fics from 500 to 999 pages and fics from 250 to 499 pages. Each entry gives
you the page count of the fic (including all its sequels and sidestories),
followed by the fic name. Click on the name to go to the entry for the first
part of the fic in the index.
Category pages: (Comedy, Dark, Alterverse, Divergence, Continuation, Drama,
Lemon, WAFF)
These pages collect the stories that have the respective flags. So all the
comedies are listed on the Comedy page for instance.
In all the fic lists (i.e anywhere except the main index pages) a green ball
next to a fic name indicates a completed story. A cross indicates that the
fic is a crossover. If it is green, the fic crosses over with one other series.
A yellow cross indicates a cross with 2 series, and a red cross indicates a
cross with 3 or more series.
Extra special thanks to Durandall who heroically went through a huge number
of author page links, weeding out the bad ones. He has also been helping me
finally get some of the older fics catagorised.

There are bound to be many errors in a list this size. There are 3280
fics, 1125 Authors and crossovers with 228 series' listed here. If anyone
spots an error, especially incorrect email addresses or webpages, PLEASE

if you find a homepage for a fic that is listed as not having one, I'd
love to have more listed!. If you are an author and you think I've
written a bad synopsis for your fic (or anything else is wrong), please
let me know and I'll fix things as soon as possible. In addition if any
author wants to send me a comment to be listed in that authors entry in
the author index, let me know. You must have at least 2 fics in the index
to have a comment listed.
Thanks to all the Ranma fic authors who have written the stories that
have kept me entertained for the past 6 years as I've compiled this
index. May you continue to write for many years to come.
