1 A New Beginning

A young man is seen running down the streets, full of tourists. "Excuse me.pardon me." he yelled as he ran by.

"Kai," someone yelled from behind, "Wait for me!"

Kai stopped and yelled, "Hurry up Vick!"

Vick came running, caught up with Kai and they both ran towards the park. The two stopped running when they hit the center of the park. They both inhaled in and out furiously. Kai fell to the grassy ground and looked up towards the sky.

"You know," Kai said while breathing hard, "this city isn't that bad once you get used to it.I don't even think I've ever seen the sky this blue before."

Vick looked up, the sky was clear of clouds, and was full of kites. Birds flew in patterns, while the wind blew songs in the air. Vick smiled and closed his eyes; he stood there with his arms wide open while soaking in the sun.

"Everything is perfect!" Vick said with his eyes still shut, "Nothing can be more beautiful."

"Except for me of course," a voice interrupted.

Vick opened his eyes and saw a handsome young man dressed in black pants and a matching shirt.

"Aku," Kai said with his eyes closed, "dressed in black as always."

"Geez, Aku," Vick said while returning to his position, "it's so nice outside.you dressing in black makes my whole day worse."

Aku smirked and joined Kai on the grass. They looked at the sky; somehow clouds were beginning to form.

"Hay Vick," Aku said while staring at the clouds, "that ugly fat cloud over their looks just like you."

Vick opened his eyes and sow the clouds.

"When did those get there?" Vick said as his put his arms down.

"I don't know," Kai answered, "They appeared when Aku came."

"The sky is jealous of my beauty," Aku joked with a smile.

"No really," Vick said seriously, "the weather man didn't say anything about clouds."

"The weather guy is always wrong," Kai interrupted.

"Do you think its Hailing Ann?"

"She's not do for months," Aku answered.

Aku and Kai stood up next to Vick and looked up towards the sky. The clouds seem to be forming a tornado right on top of them.

"That's not normal," Vick said, as the clouds seemed to get closer.

"We should get out of here," Aku suggested.

They turned to get away, but they couldn't move. Something was keeping them there.

"Am I the only one who can't move?" Kai said as he tried to left up his feet.

"No," Aku and Vick said together.

"What's going on!?" Kai yelled.

"Is the grass sticky?" Vick yelled.

"Nope," Aku answered while feeling the ground.

Suddenly a ray of white light came from the epicenter of the tornado and landed in front of them. A shadowy figure was in the light, the figure turned around, its red eyes glared at them.

"Hay!" Vick yelled, "What are you doing in there.are your feet stuck also?"

The figure walked closer.

"Does that answer your question?" Aku said with a frown.

They tried to pull out, but they didn't budge. The figure steeped closer.

"Pull harder!" Kai ordered.

They tried, but they didn't budge. The figure steeped closer.

"Where goin' to die! Where goin' to die!"

"Shut up Vick!" Aku yelled.

Suddenly another white light descended. A shadowy figure appeared in the light. It turned around and its white eyes landed on the red-eyed figure. The red-eyed figure stopped walking and turned around. It laid its eyes on the white-eyed figure. They were saying something in another language.

"Maraku lani karaka!" the white-eyed figure yelled.

The red-eyed laughed and yelled, "Puruka manimani kangada queshna!"

"Hay Kai," Aku whispered, "do you understand any of that.Vick?"

"Actually," Kai said in amazement, "I do."

"Yah right," Vick teased, "What are they saying?"

"The white-eyed said, 'Get back in the Maraku' the red-eyed said, 'Make me or are you to scared'"

"Yah right, Kai.Aku do you believe he can really understand them?"

"Kakai mo tatak irapamos urika!?" the white-eyed yelled.

"Laraki wanak xaraki glbado!"

"Kai, translate!" Aku ordered.

"The white-eyed said, 'What are you looking for?' the red-eyed said, 'The kristal guardian its here.'"

"Yukamo nikato rekaraba!?" the white-eyed yelled.

"Imanara gagarba victama viskastos olambos!"

" 'Are you serious its here?' 'Yes and I'll get it if it's the last thing I'll do'"

"Quenra palabdama miskarta!"

"Blarka naba istana histo?!"

" 'You wont get away with this!' 'Who's going to stop me you?!'"

"Ikata mira lamaba!"

The red-eyed laughed.

"Why is the red-eyed laughing?" Vick asked.

Kai looked at Vick and said, "The white-eyed said that it will stop him."

"Minako yaba!" the white-eyed yelled as it ran towards the red-eyed.

The red-eyed laughed at it ran towards the white-eyed. They lunged and each other and engaged in a hand to hand combat. The red-eyed was much taller then the white-eyed and it seemed the red-eyed over powered the white-eyed. The red-eyed tried to lay a hand on the white-eyed, but the white-eyed was too quick. The white-eyed couldn't hit that well, so it used its feet. They kicked and punched each other furiously, but each blocked or dodged every single blow. They started floating towards the tornado shaped cloud. The red-eyed looked down and noticed that Kai had a blue glow around him.

"Wanak xaraki![1]" the red-eyed gasped.

The white-eyed looked at Kai, then at the red-eyed. The red-eyed headed towards Kai. The tornado shaped cloud started disappearing. The white-eyed looked at Kai, then at the cloud.

"Katamo miranji[2]," the white-eyed whispered.

The white-eyed followed the red-eyed. The white-eyed was getting closer towards the red-eyed. The red-eyed was about three feet away from grabbing Kai, when the white-eyed grabbed the red-eyed. They started heading towards the cloud, but it disappeared and both the red and the white-eyed disappeared. The guy's looked at each other.

"Were we just imagining that?" Kai asked as he took a step.

"I don't know anymore," Vick answered as he jumped up and down.

"I thought I was the normal one," Aku wined.

"Lets get out of here," Kai suggested.

The three ran out of there and headed towards Crash Course[3]. When they got there, the whole place was talking about the strange lights coming down from the clouds.

"I saw one near the clock tower!"

"Oh yah, I saw six!"

"I saw two in the park!"

The guys walked to a booth.

"Were not the only ones who saw them," Vick said as he looked around.

"What will it be boys?" a waiter said as he approached them.

"Vick and I'll have the two brg's and cola.Kai."

Kai looked out the window. From a distance he saw two pairs of white eyes and two pairs of red eyes.

"Hay Kai.Kai."

Kai turned around.

"What will it be bub," the waiter said impatiently.

"What ever there having," Kai answered while returning back to the window.

Vick and Aku looked out the window. They saw the two pairs of red and white eyes.

"There still out there," Vick said as he looked away.

"What are they looking for, Kai?" Aku asked as he looked away.

"There looking for the Kristal guardian," Kai answered while looking at the pair of white eyes, "although, I don't know what the white-eyed wanted, I knew what the red-eyed wanted."

"What is this 'Kristal guardian?'"

"I have no idea, must be important though."

"Hay you three," a voice from behind yelled, "did you guys see those lights?"

"Hay Kari," Aku said as he made room.

"You bet we saw those lights," Vick said as he opened a pack of sugar, "We saw two at the park.and Kai.understood what they were saying."

Kari[4] looked at Kai, who was still looking out the window. "Really Kai?" she asked.

"Kai.hay Kai." Aku yelled.

Kai turned around and looked at them, "What?" he said not noticing Kari was there.

"Kari asked you a question," Vick said while struggling to open the pack of sugar.

"I didn't notice you their Kari," Kai said as he took the pack of sugar away form Vick and opened it, "What did you say?"

"Vick said you understood what those this said."

"Yah." he answered while looking back out the window.

"Karampi yami [5]Wanak xaraki!" a voice in Kai's head yelled.

Kai looked around, "Did you guys hear that?" he asked while looking over his shoulders.

"Hear what?" Vick said as he pored sugar on his palm.

"Karampi yami [6]Wanak xaraki!" the voice yelled louder.

"Nothing," Kai said as he turned around.

They looked at Kai, Kai looked down.

"Hay," Vick said as he gulped sugar down, "Want to do something tonight?"

"Are you kidding?!" Kari exclaimed, "After what happened today, my parents wont let me go out."

"Like you ever go out," Aku said under his breath.

"I heard that Akura!" Kari yelled.

Aku shivered and said, "Never call me that."

Kari just smiled and turned to Vick.

"You know he hates it when you call him that," Vick repeated.

"I know."

"I hope you don't expect me to give girly over there free food," the waiter said as he gave them their food.

Kai closed his eyes; remembrance danced in his head.

"Daddy!" a little boy yelled.

Kai opened his eyes; he was back in the park.

"Kai," a man's voice yelled back.

Little Kai ran towards the man and jumped in his arms. A woman came walking towards them and put her arms around them.

Kai had tears in his eyes.

"Mommy," little Kai whispered.

A brown puppy came running and ran circles around the man and the woman. The man put little Kai down and little Kai started running after the puppy.

"Karampi yami Wanak xaraki," a voice from the sky yelled.

The woman laughed and took pictures of little Kai running after the puppy. The man sat down at the table and started reading the newspaper.

"Karampi yami Wanak xaraki," the voice yelled again.

Kai took a step. Suddenly the sky turns red and a huge wind started. Little Kai stopped running and looked up. The woman stopped taking pictures and looked up. The man stopped reading and looked up. Little Kai ran towards the woman. The man got up and started packing everything up. The woman sheltered little Kai and carried him. The woman ran towards the man and put Kai down to help him. Little Kai started looking around for the little brown puppy. The puppy was under a tree in the canter of the park.

"Buu!" little Kai yelled as he ran after the puppy.

Kai gasped as little Kai ran. The woman turned around only to find little Kai running away.

"Kai," the woman yelled.

The man turned around and looked for little Kai. The man spotted him and ran after him.

"Kai," the man yelled while running.

Little Kai ran towards Buu. Little Kai grabbed on to him and held him tight. A tornado shaped cloud started forming in the sky.

"Karampi yami Wanak xaraki!" the voice in the sky yelled.

A light beamed down towards little Kai. The man ran and sheltered little Kai. A blue stream of light fell from the sky and hit the man in the back.

"Daddy," little Kai yelled as he dropped Buu.

The man screamed in pain, but he still sheltered little Kai. A piece of the blue light hit little Kai's necklace. A shadowy figure with green eyes appeared in the sky and started flying towards the man. The green-eyed figure ran his sward through the man and almost hit little Kai's necklace.

"Mack," the woman yelled in tears.

Mack looked little Kai in the eyes and whispered, "Take care of your mother, Kai."

The green-eyed smiled and pulled back his sward. He put his sward back and started flying back to the tornado shaped cloud. The green-eyed looked back and noticed little Kai had a blue glow.

"Wanak xaraki!" it yelled as it flew back towards little Kai.

He pulled out his sward and aimed it at little Kai.

"Kai," the mother yelled as she ran towards him.

The green-eyed smiled and flew faster. The mother sheltered little Kai and the sward ran thought her, almost hitting little Kai's necklace.

"Mother," Kai yelled as he took another step.

"You're not getting your hands on my son," the mother yelled at the green-eyed.

The green-eyed pulled out his sward and ran the woman through again. The woman screamed in pain but she still sheltered little Kai.

"Mommy," little Kai yelled in tears.

The green-eyed frowned and pulled out the sward. He looked at the woman and smiled. He ran his sward through her, this time cracking little Kai's necklace. The woman fell and died. The green-eyed smiled and pulled out his sward. It looked at little Kai and yelled, " Hiraki wanak[7]xaraki!"

Kai ran towards little Kai. Little Kai put his arms in front of him. Suddenly a beam of light appeared form little Kai's necklace and blasted the green-eyed back in the cloud. The cloud disappeared and the sky turned back to blue. Little Kai looked up in the sky and then looked down at his mother and father. Kai came and put his hands on little Kai's shoulders. Little Kai looked up at Kai with tears.

"Hay Kai," a voice yelled.

Kai looked up; he was back at Crash Course. Kari, Aku, and Vick were staring at Kai strangely.

"Hay Kai," Aku said while looking at him.

Kai turned around and said, "What?"

"For a minute there I thought you were dead," Vick said as he gulped down some soda.

"Aren't you guna eat?" Kari said as she ate some pizza.

"Oh yah," Kai said as he looked down. Kai grabbed his burger and noticed his necklace. It had a crack on it and it was blue.

"Uhh.Kai," Kari said concerned.

Kai looked up.

"Are you alright?"

"Yah, just remembering."

"Remembering what," Vick asked.

"How my parents died," Kai answered.

Aku put his burger down. Kari and Vick put their drinks down.

There was a moment of silence. Then Aku said, "It wasn't your fault.they were at the wrong place at the wrong time."

Kai looked at him.

Aku continued, "That was ten years ago.they caught the guy.besides your aunt and uncle love you.you got kids to play with.I'm not making this any better am I?"

Kari and Vick shook their heads, but Kai smiled.

 "Your doing better then what the child psychiatrist said," Kai said as he took a bight of his burger.

Kai smiled and so did Vick and Kari.

"Was that a joke?" Aku said while drinking, "it wasn't that funny."

Vick through a crumpled package of sugar at Aku; Aku dodged it and through it back. Kai looked at them, they were smiling.

"Hay Kai," Kari yelled.

Kai looked only to find a piece of bread flying at him. Kai laughed and through it back.

"Karampi yami Wanak xaraki!" the voice yelled in Kai's head.

2 Who's The New Kid?

Kai and Vick are running through busy streets.

"Were late again," Vick yelled, "Come on Kai, your getting slow!"

"Karampi yami Wanak xaraki!" a voice yelled in Kai's head.

"I'm coming," Kai yelled as he shook his head.

They reached the high school, Silver Bay[8]High. The bell just rang as they entered the premises.

"Miss[9]Flora is going to kill us," Vick said as he ran the building.

Kai followed and, without looking, crashed onto the custodian. Kai got up and helped the custodian up.

"I am so sorry," Kai apologized.

"It's alright," the custodian said with a smile.

Kai walked away, but turned around to the custodian smiling and looking at him with black eyes. Kai turned around to find Miss Flora staring angrily at him.

"Why are you late.again Kai?!" she yelled.

"A thousand pardons Miss Flora," Kai apologized.

"That's no excuse," she yelled while pulling Kai in, "detention after school!"

Kai ran to his seat, he could hear Kari giggle. He turned around and stuck out his tongue.

"Since Aku warned us that Vick and Kai were going to be late," Miss Flora said with a smile, "We'll start with our daily lesson."

Kai and Vick turned to Aku; Aku smiled. Kai and Vick just pointed their pointers[10] towards him.

"We'll do history first today," Miss Flora, continued, "Lets start with writing down the city's of Spring Kilter."

The students all groaned, but took out there [11]notebook.

"Close your notebook when you're done."

"Karampi yami Wanak xaraki!" the voice yelled.

Kai shook his head and started all over again. Just then there was a knock on the door. The door opened and two students came in.

"Hay Mack," the majority of the class yelled.

"Karampi yami Wanak xaraki!" the voice yelled.

Mack smiled and walked towards Miss Flora, the girl behind him followed. Mack whispered something to Miss Flora and turned to the other girl.

"Good luck," Mack said to the girl with a smile.

The girl smiled back while Mack waved to the class.

"That's enough Mack," Miss Flora said as she stood up, "see you fifth period."

Mack left and Miss Flora walked towards the girl.

"Class," Miss Flora said as she finished talking to the girl, "I'd like you all to meet our new student Ai.she just moved."

"Welcome Ai," the class yelled together.

"Thank you for your magnificent welcome," Ai said with a smile.

"You can sit in any empty seat you want," Miss Flora said as she sat down.

Ai looked around and saw an empty seat in front of Kai. She walked over there and smiled at Kai as she sat down.

"Karampi yami Wanak xaraki!" the voice yelled.

"Ai," Miss Flora said without looking, "Please take out your notebook and write down all the city's of Spring Kilter."

"But," Ai said while blushing, "I'm not acquainted were Spring Kilter is.I just moved to this realm."

Aku looked at her.

"Then write all the city's of the state you were last in," Miss Flora responded.

Ai typed, everyone was done typing, even Ai. Miss Flora looked up and saw all the notebooks closed.

"With the names of these city's," Miss Flora said as she stood, "Give me an oral report on the city's you've been in.if you've been in all of them.then you better hurry."

The class groaned but did what they were told. Ai looked out the window and watched the black and white birds frolic in the clear blue sky. Aku looked at Ai and blushed.

 "Karampi yami Wanak xaraki!" the voice yelled.

Ai looked out the window. Aku looked at Ai.

"Aku," Miss Flora said loud to get the class's attention, "you look like your done.please report."

"My story is sad," Aku tried to say while trying not to laugh.

"In front of the class now young man."

Aku got up to the class. A lot of the girls started giggling and started winking at Aku. Aku winked and smiled at the girls, which made the girls giggle more.

"My story," Aku said teasingly, "by the beautiful, handsome, talented, physically fit, wonder boy."

"Aku!" Miss Flora yelled.

"Sorry.by Aku.I was once in Tatsuya.beautiful.very beautiful.the beach was great.the girls were beautiful.but not as beautiful as the girls in this class room.people thought I was someone important.they wanted my autograph.I got free food.and were ever I went.crowds followed."

"That's enough Aku," Miss Flora interrupted, "Next is.Kai."

Kai blushed and got to the center of the class. "I haven't been anywhere," Kai started, " and since I haven't gone anywhere.I'd like to talk about my favorite place in the city.Silent Park.it's my favorite spot.I like to go to the center of the park.that's were I saw my parents last."

Miss Flora was about to stop Kai, but Kai put out his hand and continued. "The grass was perfect.not a cloud in the sky.the air was fresh.the smell of flowers nectar filled the air.I was playing with Buu.my little brown mutt.my mother took pictures.my father tried to teach me to play football.he wanted me to actually play with steroid pumped brutes.no offence to all our football players.I didn't learn.as usual.we played until it rained.the weather guy was always wrong.he still is.no offence Karla but your dad really sucks.I ran under my mothers dress and my father sheltered my mother and I.somehow we fell and we were soon dancing in the mud.that's my favorite spot."

The class clapped and the girls awed at the same time.

"I'll let you go under my dress anytime," a girl yelled in the back.

Everyone laughed, even Ai and Kai. Kai got back to his seat.

Kari put her arms around Kai and said, "That was beautiful Kai.Will you marry me?"

Kari and Kai laughed.

"Settle down class," Miss Flora yelled, "Kai that was beautiful and smart thinking of telling your favorite moment if you didn't go anywhere.next is.Vick."

Vick looked up and ran towards the front of the class.

"My favorite place is.GreensBuro.I love there sweets.I go there every month.I get free sweets.my older brother owns the store.we can take a field trip there."

"Is that it," Miss Flora said while shaking her head.

"Yep." Vick said while sitting, "didn't have enough preparation time."

"Fine.next is.Kari.are you prepared Kari?"

"Yes ma'am," Kari said while jumping out of her chair, "I am so ready.are all of you? Prepare for an A plus, plus, plus, if at all possible."

 "Just get it over with.. I really need a nap," a boy in the back yelled.

Everyone but Ai, Kari, and the Miss Flora laughed.

"My favorite place in Spring Kilter is Wild Springs.my grandmother lives there.she has the best smile."

Suddenly there was a huge explosion. Everyone looked out the window. The back of the school was gone. People started crowding around the huge hole.

"What was that?"

"I heard it was those things we saw yesterday."

"I heard the government had a secret lab under there and it exploded."

"I heard the janitor got really mad."

"Hay everyone Johnny just wet his pants!"

Kai, Aku, Vick, and Kari looked at the hole. Ai was the only one inside the building. She was looking out the window. Kai looked at her from the outside.

"Karampi yami Wanak xaraki!" the voice yelled.

"Hay Kai," Vick yelled, "What do you think it was?"
Kai turned around and looked at the hole.

"Alright everyone," the principal yelled, "everyone back in the building.nothing to see here."

Suddenly clouds started forming above the site. A beam of light shot out and hit the epicenter of the hole. Everyone turned around. Ai looked out the window. A shadowy figure stood there. With its yellow eyes it looked at Kari. It smiled and walked towards Kari. Everyone started screaming and ran. Kari just stood there, she couldn't move, everyone around Kari couldn't move. Kai, Vick, Aku, and the principal were stuck. Kari started screaming.

"What does that thing want?" the principal asked.

"Et wanak xaraki," the yellow-eyed answered.

Vick looked at Kai and Kai said, "It wants the kristal guardian."

The guys put their arms around Kari and the principal shielded them.

"Get away," the principal yelled, "don't harm my students."

The yellow-eyed just smiled and drew his sward. It struck the principal in the abdomen and pushed him aside. Now the shadowy figure wasn't in the light and they could finally see what it looked like. It looked like a human with fangs, a tail, horns, and a torso of goat. Its eyes were still red and it smelled like it never bathes. It shoved the boys to the side and looked at Kari.

"Wanak xaraki," it said, as it smelled her.

"Stop," a voice in the back yelled.

Everyone looked to find another shadowy figure in a light that didn't descend from the cloud.

"Do not harm her," the figure yelled.

"Wanak xaraki!?" the monster asked.

Kai looked at the window, Ai wasn't there.

"No," the figure responded, "Your worse nightmare."

The monster turned to Kari then turned around towards the figure. It smiled and walked towards it.

"What are you doing here, is it for the kristal guardian?"

The monster nodded.

"How many of you are here?"

The monster raised two fingers. Suddenly another red-eyed thing was behind the figure. They both walked towards her. The figure jumped towards the sun. The monsters followed her and were blinded by the glare of the sun.

"Flames of Annihilation," the figure yelled.

Huge fireballs hurled towards the monsters and were destroyed. They all looked and awed at the triumph. Kari screamed when she found part of the monsters skin on her shoulder.

"Karampi yami Wanak xaraki!" the voice yelled.

Kai grabbed the skin and walked towards the trash.

"Legs are free," he said as he threw the skin away.

They moved their legs and started dancing in a circle.

"We can move, we can move." they chanted.

Kai looked up, the figure disappeared.

"Hay Kai," Vick yelled, almost scaring Kai out of his pants, "Come on.the principal said we get to go home.everyone."

"Is he alright?" Kai asked as he turned around.

"Yah," Kari said surprised, "the wound that monster gave him just diapered."

"What do you guy's want to do now," Aku asked.

"How about going home," Kai suggested.

"Excuse me.Kai," a familiar voice behind said.

Kai turned around to find Miss Flora.

"Come on Miss Flora," Kai pleaded, "I shouldn't have detention.why."

"Don't worry Kai," Miss Flora said while trying not to laugh, "I canceled your detention.I just wanted to know if you all are alright.you four gave me a scare."

"Were all right Miss Flora," Aku said with a suave smile, "I protected them all."

Miss Flora just shook her head and walked away. They gang looked at Aku and started walking away.

"What?" Aku asked as he ran after him.

"Your hopeless, Aku," Kari said as they walked into the building.

"Always taking credit," Vick continued.

They walked into their classroom. Ai was there packing up her things. The gang walked towards their desk and started packing up there things. Ai was done packing; she was getting ready to leave. Aku looked at Ai.

"Hay Ai," Kai said as he got his stuff together.

Ai stopped and turned around.

"Do you mind if I walk with you?" Kai asked as he walked up towards her.

"That wouldn't be a predicament," Ai answered with a smile.

Kai smiled back and they both walked out of the classroom. The gang watched them as they left.

"There's something about that girl," Aku said as he walked towards Kari.

"I think she's sweet," Kari said as she hit Aku with her book bag.

"You probably like her, Aku," Vick said teasingly, "I bet you're jealous of Kai.your not the only one who gets the girl."

"What are you talking about?" Aku asked as he rubbed his nose.

"There's something about that girl," Vick said while mocking Aku.

Aku hit Vick on the head and walked away.

"Do you guy's want a ride or not?" Aku yelled in the hallway.

Kari and Vick ran after Aku.
